TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (Nov. 10, 2021) — Morgan Russell holds the position of assistant account coordinator at KC Projects Public Relations, a full-service communications firm located in Birmingham, Alabama. At her job she enjoys integrating her interests of design, public policy, branding, storytelling and history to provide the best client experience possible.
Russell firmly believes that The University of Alabama’s public relations program is the best in the nation. She is convinced she would not have landed her current job if she had attended a different college.
“The College of Communication and Information Sciences truly does an incredible job at providing opportunities for students to get involved outside the classroom,” says Russell. “The high level of strategic thinking students are taught at UA puts them a foot above the rest.”
During her time at UA, Russell majored in public relations and was involved in Capstone Agency, the Advertising and Public Relations Student Initiative Board, Academic Honor Council, University of Alabama Student Government Association, the Public Relations Student Society of America and the Public Relations Council of Alabama.
“Organizations such as Capstone Agency gave me real-world experience and provided me with the skills to thrive in my current post-grad career,” says Russell. “I have UA to thank for the large number of connections I’ve made.”
Russell’s advice to current students is to build relationships with other students in the department and get to know your professors. The positions she held at UA along with her internship are contributing factors to her success today.
