Currently residing in New York City, Jacquie Hudson serves as account supervisor for Ketchum, a global communications consultancy. According to Hudson, Ketchum is an agency that thinks differently and implements creatively with break-through ideas. In addition to her account team role, Hudson works on the Ketchum Purpose team which develops partnerships between clients and nonprofits.
As a public relations major at The University of Alabama, Hudson said it was an easy transition into an agency following graduation. While attending UA, Hudson was heavily involved in extracurricular organizations where you can start developing hands-on experience before entering the “real world.”
“Everything I learned from my professors, connections I made through what’s now called the Oakley Society mentorship program, and experiences I gained through on-campus organizations all helped me throughout the job search and provided a number of ways to stand out during the interview process,” said Hudson.
As an alumni of the program, Hudson still cannot say enough positive things about PRSSA and Capstone Agency, two organizations she was involved in throughout her undergrad.
When asked about professors that inspired her, Hudson responded, “How much time do you have?” She then went on to mention Teri Henley, Tracy Sims, Mike Little, William Gonzenbach, Joseph Phelps, Regina Lewis, Susan Daria, Bruce Berger and Karla Gower —just to name a few. From there, she continued to thank members of the entire A+PR department, like Jessika White and Lisa Myrick, for being so supportive in countless ways.
What does the future hold for Hudson? She says, “We’ll have to wait and see!”
